MYTH: Great leaders can do everything

MYTH: Great leaders are well-rounded

FACT: The less you do the more you accomplish

FACT: The less you do the more others can accomplish

POINT: Some leaders attract followers, good leaders attract leaders, but great leaders develop leaders of leaders

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

SIGNS OF GREAT LEADERS

1) An Inspiring Life

Ex: Treat others, handle adversity, overcome temptation

2) A Successful History

Ex: Follow through, positive changes, consistent improvement

3) A Motivating Spirit

Ex: Encourage others, secure in calling, build momentum

4) A Humble Attitude

Ex: Transparency, how you receive praise, spirit of grace

5) A Lasting Legacy

Ex: Actions are repeated, pass on wisdom, interest in next generation

HOW TO DEVELOP GREAT LEADERS

1) Teach Awareness

PROBLEM: Nobody lies like leaders

WHY: We have an unlimited capacity for self-deception

SOLUTION: Know what you don’t know

2) Assume Trust

WHY: People don’t care about how much you know until they know how much you care

WHY: You can empower or you can control
