Voddie Baucham
I choose to believe the Bible because it is a reliable collection of historical documents, written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies, and they claim to be divine rather than human in origin.

Verse 1

The apostles were ministers of the word of Christ Henry, M. (1994). Matthew Henry’s commentary on the whole Bible: complete and unabridged in one volume (p. 1819). Peabody: Hendrickson.Verse 2

Verse 2

Luke was not an eyewitness
The apostles were ministers of the word of Christ He interviewed people who had seen the miracles and heard what christ said directly

Verse 3

Religion does not destroy civility and good manners, but teaches us, according to the usages of our country, to give honour to them to whom honour is due. Henry, M. (1994). Matthew Henry’s commentary on the whole Bible: complete and unabridged in one volume (p. 1819). Peabody: Hendrickson.
