Revival: Be Filled

Intro

There are marks of every great revival - from the ones in the Bible and throughout history. What typically happens is the people of God repent and stir themselves into a great desire to live holy lives pleasing to God. As they cry out to Him for their own hearts and the hearts of the world God often responds by empowering His people to do His work.

Lately, and more often, as I think on the Lord I have this feeling that I can only describe as electricity. going through me. I feel as if I am being “charged up.” But here’s the thing. If He is charging me up it is so that He can do something through me. So to ask the easiest question in the world, “what happens if I do nothing with the filling He is giving me?”

So far we have talked about a few things in our preparation for the revivals. We need to pray hard. We need to behave Christlike. We need to look for opportunities to promote not just the meeting but the cause of Christ. And the best way for us to do that is to be filled with the Spirit.

The Most Important Revival - Jesus

The Second Most Important Revival.

- The promise of baptism of the Spirit

- The believers praying CONSTANTLY in UNITY

The Most Important Command Concerning Being Filled with the Spirit.

Eph 5:

Ephesians 5:18 NIV

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

The main point is about the being with the Spirit rather than being filled with worldly things — We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Sprinkling of to do’s … Unity, gentle, patience, bearing with love, put off falsehood, put off bitterness, rage, anger, slander..... read chapter 4.

Continues, marriage, parenting, being a great child, employee and employer, ......

it needs one way to get there --- be filled with the Spirit.

How to Get Filled

- they were doing Christian things - church business, prayer, unity

praying specifically for God to move through His people (see verses 39-30)
