There is a popular saying: "Share the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words." This message series covers how to share the Gospel in practical ways by studying the methods of our greatest evangelism model, Jesus Christ. At BCC we want to invite somebody we love to encounter Someone we love. The world desperately needs to be introduced to Jesus, and it is absolutely necessary for us to be able to verbalize how His story changed our story.

Intro:

"Share the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words." - Unknown
What is necessary in moving someone to God?
Jesus has given me an invitations to follow Him.
Matthew 4:19 NLT
19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
Matthew
Following Jesus means moving others to God.
I think it means something else - inward focus. My love, my growth, my discipline.
Why am I necessary in moving someone to God?
We:
Arg: What is the all about? Lost and religious.
What we do at BCC might leave you scratching your head. Why?
We are necessary because you and I know something that other people don’t know.
God: Background, Peter and John…
I don’t have silver or gold but JESUS
Religious people didn’t like it. Don’t talk about Jesus again. Culture.
Christ followers believe that something happened in history.
Acts 4:12 NLT
12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
Moving people to God isn’t about proving to others people that your belief system and value system are better; that your religion is superior to theirs.
This is about arguments and apologetics. We are called to verbalize the good news. The good news is about events that happened and will happen in history. It is necessary that we can verbalize this. We are called to share.
The lost cannot connect the dots. They will come to their on conclusion. We don’t believe that my belief system is better. It is not even neccesary to answer all their question.
Peter and John saw this neccesity? They where willing to give their livees.
What power? The power of Jesus!
Acts 4:12 NLT
12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
When we try to move people to God we get in theological debates. It is about an event that happened.
The message of salvation is not intuitive.
Our natural conclusion is that if we have more good than bad… Our God is not asking us to die for Him. He died for us.
The ones we love will never get this!
Jesus lived, Jesus died and Jesus rose again!
Romans 10:9 NLT
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
If we when every argument, if you are in the right denomination.
Romans 10:14 NLT
14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
Paul was saying this before the Bible was ever put together.
For the first 300 years the debate centered on an event, not a book.
John 3:16 NLT
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Matthew 10:42 NLT
42 And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”
John 7:38 NLT
38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ ”
