Message "Four Truths About Death" (Shelly Chandler)
Today we are here to honor two people with the service: Rosemary and Jesus. Most of the time we see death as bad and life as good. But God see death as a good thing for those who know him.
Psalm 116:15 NIV84
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Today we are here to honor two people with the service: Brett and Jesus. We will all agree that Brett death is tragic because of his age. We all see death as bad and life as good. But God see death as a good thing for those who know him.
2 Corinthians 4:17–18 NIV84
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Cor
Today I want you to understand Four Biblical Truths about death.

1. Death is a time for a Trusting not Rejecting. ()

John 14:1 NIV84
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
NIV84“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
NIV84 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

2. Death is a beginning not an end. ()

John 14:2 NIV84
2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2
NIV84In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

3. Death is a greeting not a Good by. ()

John 14:3 NIV84
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
John 14:3
NIV84And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
NIV84 According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.

4. Death is a Victory not a defeat. ()

NIV84Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
The Blood of Jesus can takes away our sin, guilt, and shame.
Through Jesus’ death and resurrection we can have victory over death and sin!
NIV84 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
