Geographical Revival - Living Under an Open Heaven
Geographical Revival
Under an Open Heaven
› Start with a drawing of the three heavens
There are loads of story, OT and NT alike, that share of not only us coming up but God wanting us to invite Him down. There is a battle in the middle world to stop this flow of an open heaven!
What is Revival? Simply put, it is an awakening and restoration of things, people, places, values, passions, and so on.
Awaken
Psalm 85:6 Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?
Restore us
2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
The Hebrew word for “revive” is “chayah” and means “to be quickened, to be made alive,” and “to be restored”
2 Corinthians 5:19–20 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
This is a now movement of God through the church, US!
I don’t believe that God starts a revival for it to only flutter out after a short time.
God wants to revive his church so that we go from glory to glory and we pass on what we have learnt to the next generation. Once a move of God starts there are many factors that maintain its growth, there may be other minor elements, but these are what will cause continuance when we have it.
Hunger
Hunger for the Lord must be maintained and provided for in the church.
Meetings of soaking, seeking, drinking etc. are to be available to maintain and increase hunger as this drive’s revival. In the flesh you eat because you are hungry but, in the Spirit, you get hungry the more you eat. (Soaking meetings at Impact - Heidi Baker, The brother hood episode, Matt Sorger)
Prayer
Prayer adds fuel to the fire. As the hunger for God to move grows, the passion for prayer grows also. Let the church pray.
Prayers move from oneself to the town region and nation. They become passionate leading to periods of fasting and intersession. Burdens become large in the spirit for needs and people are motivated to spend the time needed to see things happen. (My mom’s prayers, family fasting for my sister, Hadsund prayer group, getting the fish back)
Evangelism
All of what is now happening is for one purpose, to reach the lost.
God revives his church so that they are drawn back to what they were originally intended to be – full of the Holy Spirit and reaching the lost, building the church and making disciples.
Something is wrong if this is not the result of any move of God. Motivation for the church to go out on the streets and witness, talk to friends, family and neighbors about the Lord and a general heart for the harvest explodes in the hearts of His people. This must be encouraged to grow, facilitated and resourced. (Find and create a need to reach out - San Diego tent, coffee at the Roskilde station, Ólavsøka outreach)
Warfare
Of course, with all the prayer, worship and evangelism going on, visions of what God wants to do, what the enemy is up to, where the strongholds are in the geographical area etc. are made known by the Spirit.
The church then takes the weapons of our warfare up and uses them with great effectiveness. Demons are driven out of people, the town and even the whole region. The Lordship of Christ is raised over the area and miracles begin to take place as an open heaven begins to bring all His Kingdom here on earth. (Wayne’s story of the giant, Norway story and prophecy, Me and Joe on Nelson.)
Discipleship
The way to keep this revival alive is discipleship. The younger generations’ frustrations with the last one is that many do not pass on what they have learnt. Some of the secrets of God have been lost with the last generation because they failed to pass them on. For a move of God to be maintained we must pass on the secrets we have learnt. (PUNCH prayer time and the fruit from that, from generation to generation.)
Message from a teen:
Hi Manuel! 🙌
Happy happy birthday to you!
I've been looking forward to this day, because I have wanted to use the occasion to thank you and honor you for everything you've done for me.
You were on of those spectacular leaders back in the days when you were my Youth Pastor in Mariager.
I remember you taking good care of me and my brother, praying for us. Just encouraging us in our life with God. You did it so faithfully! 💪
I especially remember the mornings at Bible College where we would gather and pray before all of us teens had to go to school. That's setting such a good example to follow.
I can still remember how you worship, always giving God everything you have, so inspiring.
I just wanted to appreciate you and I'm sure I'm not the only one that has been blessed by your leadership, by your love for God and for people. ☀️
Have a blessed new year with your family! I'm thankful.
Happy Birthday!!
