OH How He Loves You and Me P1
Read NLT
Have you ever thought what does God think of you?
Let me tell something about what God thinks of you. The Bible says, “The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end” GNT.
In my own life I have found an interesting thing about God’s love and it is this: If you don’t feel loved by God, then you can’t really love yourself, and you can’t really offer love back to God, and you can’t really love anybody else. It is impossible to be a loving person unless you understand and remember the way God loves you.
You need to remind yourself every day what God thinks about you — not what the world thinks or what you think about yourself or somebody else thinks about you. But what God thinks about you and that is what removes our fears. Knowing what God thinks about me. And that’s what we’re going to talk about for the next several weeks till Easter. Oh How He Loves Yu and Me. Knowing what God thinks about you.
Let me give you four things God thinks about you, to help you remember why and how to love. The first thing I want to share about what God thinks of you is this:
1. You’re completely accepted.
We spend much of our lives trying to earn acceptance from our parents, peers, from those we respect, from those we envy, and sometimes even total strangers. But we need to realize God has already settled this issue of acceptance: “Jesus . . . made us acceptable to God” ( CEV). What Jesus did on the cross made you completely acceptable to God — no matter what you’ve done or what you will ever do. You are completely acceptable to God Let me give you another thing God thinks about you, that will help you remember why and how to love.
2. You’re unconditionally loved.
God doesn’t say, “Bill, I love you if” or “Bill, I love you because.” He says, “Bill, I love you — period!” Listen, you can’t make God stop loving you, because his love is not based on what you do but on who He is. You may be sitting here thinking well how about this or that I have done… You can’t make God stop loving you… Let’s read together… It says, “The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end” (GNT). You are unconditionally loved God can’t stop loving you.
Let’s look at another thing that God thinks about you which will help us how to love…
3. You’re totally forgiven.
Because Jesus died on the cross and gave his life as a payment for your sins, you are totally forgiven once you accept that gift of forgiveness. says, “There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (NLT). God doesn’t rehearse your sins over and over; he releases them. Condemnation – We just read that the Bible tells us that, “There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” ” What does that word condemnation look like in the Bible to us… What does it mean to you… See believers, those who have been born again, we are not only free from the bondage to sin, but we believers are free from the inner emotions and thoughts that tend to bring feelings of condemnation to us when we do commit sin. We Christians are free from the “law of sin and death,” and what that means is, although we will commit sin again, the Law no longer has the power to condemn us. And why? We are not under the Law’s condemnation because Jesus fulfilled, Jesus filled-up, the expectations of the Law perfectly for us, and believers are “in Christ”. And because believers are in Christ, they have the joy of being counted as righteous, simply because of Christ is righteous. (Past, Present, Future) Paul himself struggled with sin his entire like serving the Lord.
The Bible teaches that every human being will be brought before the judgment throne of God for an ultimate and decisive judgment, and Jesus Christ Himself will be the judge. We are all naturally under the condemnation of God: before Christ came into my life. “Whoever does not believe stands condemned already” (). But the Christians, those who have been born again will not be found guilty on Judgment Day.
And that’s why Paul encourages us that we need not fear condemnation because we can come to God as our loving, forgiving Father (). Christians who live in shame and guilt over past failures are needlessly condemning themselves when they ought to be Praising God and living one day at a time for Him, “forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead in Christ Jesus for every born again believer.” (). Fear can be paralyzing, “but perfect love drives out fear” (). As Christians, we must understand that our justification is found in Christ and Christ alone— and not in your works- but in His finished work on the cross, and not in what we do or don’t do (). Believers can find comfort in the assurance that you have been adopted into God’s own family and have been made heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (). Nothing can separate us “from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus”
Let me give you a fourth thing God thinks about you, that will help you remember why and how to love.
4. You’re considered extremely valuable.
You need to erase and replace all those old tapes of yourself and thoughts that say you are worthless, you are nothing. That you’re a failure. Erase those old tapes and replace them with the truth… Because God considers you extremely valuable.
There are two things that create value:
· Is who owns something, and
· What somebody’s willing to pay for it?
(Shoes My shoes and Michael Jordans Shoes) You are a child of God and You “have been bought and paid for by Christ” ( TLB). Jesus Christ paid for you with his life. That’s how valuable you are.
When you remember that you are accepted, loved, forgiven, and valuable to the Creator of the universe, you will be better equipped to show that love to yourself, to others and build deeper relationships. You are consider extremely valuable.
And why it is so important for us to get this and let it become who we are is because God wants us to love others the way He loves you. That is our testimony and that is what draws others to this church and to a relationship with God through Christ. That is a part of letting your light shine into the dark world… remembering that you are accepted, loved, forgiven, and extremely valuable to the Creator of the universe, and from that you will be better equipped to show that love to yourself, to others and build deeper relationships with others, For Go so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
