Adamic covenant - to give them dominion over His creation and to be fruitful and multiply.
Noahic Covenant - that He would never destroy all of humanity again even though there is wickedness in their heart. This is also known as the Everlasting Covenant.
Abrahamic Covenant - Descendants (Offspring), the land, and the blessing of God to all nations.
Mount Sinai - Covenant established to make Israel a people of God and it formed them into a nation.
Mount Sanai - Covenant established to make Israel a people of God and it formed them into a nation.
The purpose was Israel would be a Holy nation and that it would be a priestly nation serving God fulfilling the intent of the Abrahamic covenant that the seed would be a means of God blessings to the world.
The Sinai Covenant is not a replacement for the Abrahamic covenant it is an expansion and development of it. They are to be God’s people, representing Holiness of God to the world.
The seed that God promised to Abraham lived in blessing and flourished in Egypt.

When Pharaoh calls you and says, ‘What is your occupation?’ you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers,’ in order that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”
The promise of the Messiah comes down through Judah.
Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him? The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
The land they lived on in Egypt was fertile. The Israelites prospered and grew strong in number. Several generations had come and gone as did a new king/Pharoah in Egypt who became a afraid of the large number of Hebrews.
But the people of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them. Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, “Behold, the people of Israel are too many and too mighty for us. Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and, if war breaks out, they join our enemies and fight against us and escape from the land.”
The Israelites were then placed in slavery. Pharoah had ordered the midwives to kill all the males born to the Israelite women however they feared God and did not kill them.
God protected His plan:
God protected His plan:
A Levi and Levite woman had a child. She hid him for three months then placed him in basket on the Nile and hid him in the reeds on the banks of the river. The sister watched from a distance to see what happened to him.
Pharaoh’s daughter sees the basket, servant retrieves the basket, identifies the baby as a Hebrew, sister asks if Pharaoh's daughter wants a wet nurse, calls the mother to come and nurse the baby. Baby grows up in Pharaoh’s house, is educated, and grew up in Pharaoh’s house
One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burdens, and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people. He looked this way and that, and seeing no one, he struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
¶ One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and saw their forced labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his kinsfolk. 12 He looked this way and that, and seeing no one he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
Moses goes out the next day and sees to Hebrews fighting and questions them. They ask Moses if he is going to kill them like he did the Egyptian. Pharaoh hears the news and want to kill Moses. Moses goes on the lamb.
Moses goes from rich to poor, from comfort to average conditions of living, from being served to serving.
Moses isn’t such a bad guy after all. He defends the daughters of a priest were driven away and had come to the well to fill the troughs for their father’s flock. Moses stood up and saved them and then he watered the flock. He is given one in favor as his bride.
Moses settles down in Midian and tends his father-in-laws flock.

Moses brings his flock near Mount Horeb and God’s commissions him to go back to Egypt to bring the Israelites out of their bondage to the Egypts.

Covenant of the Land
Covenant of the Land
This the second thing that God had promised Abraham when He called him out of Ur of Chaldean to the land of Caanan. While land is not one of the focuses of the Sinaitic Covenant it remains one of the goals promised to the seed of Abraham.
God is fulfilling His previous covenants He has made. This covenant is the extension of the that part of the covenant about possessing the land.
God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them. I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as sojourners. Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant.
God is to rule over His people. God will use humanity to administer His rule. This is the case with Moses as their leader. He will point to God as the one who ultimately rules over all the land and the people. He is the supreme one.

God promised Abraham that
I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you.
He promise kings and leaders. As we look forward it will eventually lead to a monarchy. We will see how both humanity and monarchy failed to administer God’s rule over them so the wait of faithful ruler remains. That faithful ruler is Jesus - the King of kings.

The Law of Moses
The Law of Moses
The Law of Moses
God is to be the head of the people and they are to serve Him. God would put put people in charge to lead His people.
This is called a Theocracy. Websters defines Theocracy as: a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, the God's or deity's laws being interpreted by the ecclesiastical authorities.
Moses is commissioned by God to lead God’s people. And as we know Moses leads them out of Egypt into the wilderness. Moses lead them into the land of Midian - and then camped in the wilderness of the Sinai. Moses led then through the wilderness to the edge of the Promised Land.
But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.” Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him,
God calls Moses up to the mountain and God provides him with the Ten Commandments. These are the Laws that were given to the people to direct them them in how to be obedient to God and continue to enjoy God’s blessings and in there lives and as a kingdom of priests.

The Laws were given to regulate their lives and rituals. The Law also reveals their sin just as much as it did their holiness.
The Ten Commandments
The Ten Commandments
The first four are about our relationship with God and the last 6 to our relationship with each other.
We find the 10 Commandments in .
You shall have not other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself a craved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the father on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me but showing steadfast love to the thousands who love me and leep my commandments.
You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God visiting teh iniquity of teh father on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me but showing steadfast love to the thousands who love me and leep my commandments.
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain
Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
Honor your father and mother that your days may be long in the land of the LORD you God is giving you
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, wife, servant, ox, donkey, or anything that is your neighbors.
The Law given my God is ultimately to be a tutor and a teaching that will eventually lead us to our need for a Savior - Jesus.
17 My point is this: the law, which came four hundred thirty years later, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. 18 For if the inheritance comes from the law, it no longer comes from the promise; but God granted it to Abraham through the promise.
A theocracy means ruled by God, administered by humanity.
Key points in a Theocracy:
The Holy Place: The central sanctuary represented by God’s dwelling place among His people. It is not only a teaching place but also a place and setting for the order of worship.
The Holy Offering: A place where sacrifices were made to as an outward expression of the spiritual reality of a personal surrender and submission to God.
