Intro

When I first got saved, there was nothing obstructing the way between the Spirit and myself. It felt that I could hear the Spirit talk to me all the time. And there was great fruit in big and small thing.
As time went on, that has tended to come and go. The truth is life is distracting and sometimes we look at teh wrong things. and while we are distracted, the theif comes to wreck it all.
John 10:10 NIV
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Explanation

Explanation
My great hope for this revival is that we will come alive again. I don’t only want to experience that again, I want it more abundantly.
A word over my life - conduit of God’s Love.

Propositional Statement

My hope is to remind us that He has provided an answer, and if we want to be revived - we only need to look at the right thing

Condition of Humanity

Periods of great glory
Periods of great frustration
Periods of great repentance
Periods of great forgiveness

Complaints are Reasonable.

They were taking the LOOOOOOOOOOONG way.
There really wasn’t any bread.
There really wasn’t any water.
Despite the miracle of manna it was the only thing they had to eat.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs - Top to Bottom
Self-actualization
John 15:5 NIV
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
Esteem
John 14:12 NIV
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Love/Belonging
John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 Corinthians 12:27 NIV
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
Isaiah 59:19 NIV
From the west, people will fear the name of the Lord, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along.
Isaiah 59:19–20 NIV
From the west, people will fear the name of the Lord, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along. “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord.
Safety
Psalm 138:7 NIV
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.
Safety
Physiological
Matthew 6:26 NIV
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
All needs
Philippians 4:19 NIV
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
phil 4:19
That being said - their base need was being messed with

The Blame Game Doesn’t Work

Adam, Eve, Serpent
The Israelites....
The were set free and were headed to the promised land - red sea, etc
They sinned.
God’s Intentions were good. but he is Just

God Always Provides a Way

Adam and Eve - God provided clothing
Noah
The Bronze Snake

Conclusion

God’s Intentions are always Good
He is not to blame for our predicament - It’s our sin.
Just like the the Israelites complaints brought the snakes that brought death, so does our sinful nature bring about penalties that will bring about death.
John 3:14–15 NIV
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”
John 3:14
God provides the answer and though from time to time our sin rises up and bites us… if we look to the answer He provides, Christ, we will not die, in fact we will live.
