AS a teenager I walked as a “good kid”… “Ran away” to college and lost my way, began to make unwise decisions. Lost focus.
My roommates’ actoins woke me up.
Now he is walking in the Way...

Where are you walking?
What is your focus?
What is your purpose and direction?
Last week we looked at standards. We are continuing our series on being Transformed. Today we think about Focus.
God:
God:
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

“Perhaps we would not have so much trouble finding God’s will for important decisions if we were more accustomed to discerning throughout life, making our lives conform to the pattern of Christ.”

Joy
And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Singing is a natural expression of joy.
Two audience, Christians sing to each other to encourage and teach about God’s character
Sing to the Lord as a way of offering praise.
Even if you can’t sing we are expected to express inner joy.
US:
How are you walking? Wise or unwise; productive or wasteful
What are you filled with? Self-destructive behavior or the Holy Spirit
What are you singing? The blues or praise?
WE:
Church help, encourage each other by counting others as more important than ourselves.
