Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch

TEXT:  Acts 8:4-8, 26-40

OBJECTIVE:  When we do as God says and leave the results up to Him, He will do great things.  We must always follow God's truth and direction

INTRODUCTION:

1.  Read Acts 8:4-8, 26-40

2.  What do we do with those who feel lost and not part of a community?

3.  Who does God direct you to reach out to?

4.  Maybe you are one that feels that the Christians consider you an invisible.

5.  Look at the story in Acts

      V. 4-8

          1.  Philip preaching in Samaria‑‑v.5

          2.  results of his ministry‑‑v. 6‑8. 12

          3.  They received the Holy Spirit‑‑17

      V. 26-40

Eunuch—Lonely

                  Rich

                        Felt left out

                        Could not go into temple to worship-Eunuch

                  Was looking to Worship and probably left disappointed

           

            Philip in a successful time seeing many get saved

      God sends him to the country

          1.  Angel of the Lord‑‑

          2.  Results of Philip`s move

      Eunuch—Reading

      Do you understand?

            Explained the Scriptures

                  Jesus is God

                        Genesis 1:1, Cf John 1:1

                  Jesus is Good

                       

                  Jesus died and took our sins on himself

                  Bled and paid for the bad (Sin) of all

                  Rose from the dead

            Baptism is a picture of all of this.

Baptism requires Conversion—Picture is not there with out conversion

                        Shows entry into the new life

                  Baptism Shapes conversion

Accepting the death of Christ-Separation from sin-World

                        Forgiveness of sin

                        Identification with the risen Christ


                  Baptism tests conversion

                        This shows our commitment

                        This is a way to let all know your commitment to Christ
