D. Godly Servants, 1Tim 3.8-13 “servant-deacon” (Col 1.23; Eph 3.7,
translated “minister”). Jesus Christ was a
“servant-deacon” (Rom 15.8, translated
“servant”). Individuals are “servant-
deacons” (1Cor 16.15, translated “ministry”;
Eph 6.2, translated “minister”). The term
applies to men (1Tim 3.8; Phil 1.1) and
women (Rom 16.1; implied in 1Tim 3.11). In
fact, everybody is a “servant-deacon” in Eph
4.12! The whole church becomes a body of
service, Eph 4.1-16.
There is no higher calling in the Church of the Living God than serving!
