Paul then stated general implications of a believer’s offering his life to God as a sacrifice. Such an offering represents a complete change in lifestyle, involving both a negative and a positive aspect. As a result every Christian should have a proper sense of humility and an awareness of his need to be involved with other members of Christ’s body.
The point is that each member functions to serve the body, not the body to serve the members.
