Note:
For the last couple of months, used the Title “Complete”, the reason is, Jesus is the only one that will ever complete You. Everything else, everyone we know, and even ourselves will let us down. Jesus will not never, ever, ever .. Let You Down.
He stands with arms wide open… He loves You, He accepts you just as you are, No one will love you like Jesus. He Completes Me!
Text:
Title: Victory Over The Enemy
Application: Your relationship with Christ provides you victory over sin. Living in continuous sin is problematic to true conversion.
Outline
1. Our relationship is visible to others. (1-3)
2. Our relationship with Jesus is VITAL to who we say we are. (4-6)
3. Our Relationship makes us Victorious over Sin. (7-8)
4. Our relationship brings VALUE to our life. (9)
5. Continuous Sin is a VIOLATION to our relationship we claim. (10-12)
1 John 3:1–12 NKJV
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.
1. Our relationship is visible to others. (1-3)
1 John 3:1–3 NKJV
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Why is it Visible? B/c we realize who we are, Who He is , and know our worth.
He Is Still Working on Me, I ain’t what I use to be, I am not what I should Be, But thanks Be to God, the Creator of the Universe, The One who Paid My Debt On the Cross of Calvary is Working on Me. AND ONE DAY … ONE DAY… CRAIG GILLEY will stand before the king of kings and Lord of Lords… And I Will Be Complete.
John 8:47 NKJV
He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
When sin is present
Matthew 7:23 NKJV
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Matt
As we looked at in Matthew a few weeks back. The seed planted is Key. Nothing happened, something happened but you quickly gave up (walked away never did return), Thorns (you have let sin block you from the freedom Christ can give you), or your producing believer.
NOTE: when we fall in love with Jesus and declare him as our Lord we lay to rest our old nature and begin a new life… not to do so is the result of lack of salvation
Sin and the Child of God
GOD LOVES YOU THIS MORNING
Romans 8:16 NKJV
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Rom
John 1:12 NKJV
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Romans 8:14–18 NKJV
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
2. Our relationship with Jesus is VITAL to who we say we are. (4-6)
4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
1 John 3:4–6 NKJV
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
1 John
Once we accept Jesus as our savior our relationship allows us to have victory over the power of sin
We will have victory over death and the penalty of sin in the end but right now Christ justified us through his death on the cross giving us victory over sin and what God has destroyed in us should not be active in our lives
The enemy has gave the world other religions, different view of morality, and far fetched ethical issues that people have bought into and think ,GOD WILL ACCEPT THEM.
JESUS PREACHED A GOSPEL OF REPENTANCE
Mark 6:12 NKJV
So they went out and preached that people should repent.
Luke 5:32 NKJV
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Acts 2:38 NKJV
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 2:25 NKJV
in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
2 Corinthians 7:9–10 NKJV
Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
How do we handle sin in our life. It is a continuous work within our lives, we are yearning toward holiness. But, we Have the Holy Spirit, dont forget it !!!
3. Our Relationship makes us Victorious over Sin. (7-8)
1 John 3:7–8 NKJV
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Colossians 1:14 NKJV
in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 3:5–10 NKJV
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
4. Our relationship brings VALUE to our life. (9)
We have overcome the penalty of death. We have value. One day we will heirs to the throne of GOd.
1 John 3:9 NKJV
Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
The Imperative of Love
John 14:26 NKJV
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Colossians 2:13 NKJV
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
5. Continuous Sin is a VIOLATION to our relationship we claim. (10-12)
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.[1]
1 John 3:10–12 NKJV
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.
We have Christians that will not forgive other Christians. If I have said it one time, I have said it 100 to believers. How can you expect Jesus to forgive you, If you will not forgive others.
Believers live in the thorns bc they forget they are the Billy
Story: of last Sunday Nights..
Romans 5:8 NKJV
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

23 And uthen I will declare to them•, ‘I never knew you; vdepart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
7. Our Relationship makes us Victorious over Sin. (6)
Once we accept Jesus as our savior our relationship allows us to have victory over the power of sin
We will have victory over death and the penalty of sin in the end but right now Christ justified us through his death on the cross giving us victory over sin and what God has destroyed in us should not be active in our lives
For it to be active and without condemnation makes us have to look at what our experience is or was about
8. Our relationship brings VALUE to our life. (9)
We have the seed of God present in our lives.
9. Continuous Sin is a VIOLATION to our relationship we claim. (10)
Our token or key to knowing we are saved in love not love when you do good, or love because of some sort of emotion but love no matter waht
