Ephesians 4:20 But what you learned in Christ was not like this. 21 I know that you heard about him, and you are in him, so you were taught the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught to leave your old self—to stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self becomes worse, because people are fooled by the evil things they want to do. 23 But you were taught to be made new in your hearts, 24 to become a new person. That new person is made to be like God—made to be truly good and holy. 25 So you must stop telling lies. Tell each other the truth (Truth spoken in love 1 Cor. 13:4-8), because we all belong to each other in the same body. 26 When you are angry (righteous anger), do not sin, and be sure to stop being angry before the end of the day. 27 Do not give the devil a way to defeat you. 28 Those who are stealing must stop stealing and start working (There is work to be had, maybe not what you want now, be faithful with what you do have(even if there is no pay, you can volunteer your time to God) and God will give you more). They should earn an honest living for themselves. Then they will have something (Some-things, God wants you to have more than enough for yourself, so you have to give) to share with those who are poor. 29 When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you. 30 And do not make the Holy Spirit sad. The Spirit is God’s proof that you belong to him. God gave you the Spirit to show that God will make you free when the final day comes. 31 Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. 32 Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ. NCV

  • made to be truly good and holy
  • So you must stop telling lies.
    • Pretense, image instead of reality, actual lies (I am great and your not),
      • Exaggerations in ministry can cause us to avoid reality and the need for change.
      • But what do I say if I am not doing well? What about I need prayer?
  • Tell each other the truth (Truth spoken in love 1 Cor. 13:4-8), because we all belong to each other in the same body.
    • The love filter has to be used in order to deliver truth properly.
      • If the love filter is not turned on, shut up.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 5 Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done. 6 Love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth. 7 Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always remains strong. 8 Love never ends. There are gifts of prophecy, but they will be ended. There are gifts of speaking in different languages, but those gifts will stop. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will come to an end. NCV

Ephesians 4:15 No! Speaking the truth with love, we will grow up in every way into Christ, who is the head. NCV
