Bibliology : Doctrine of The Bible
What Does the Word Bible Mean ?
BibWhat Does the Word Bible Mean ?
The Greek word “Biblios” simply means “Book or Roll” and from it derived our English word “Bible”
The name derives from the papyrus plant that grew in the marshes or river banks, primarily along the Nile. Writing martial was made from the papyrus plant by cutting the pith of the plant in one-foot strips and setting it in the sun to dry.
The stripes were then laid in horizontal rows with rows of vertical stripes glued to the horizontal in a cross cross fashion.
The Word Bible is not used in scripture but the Greek word Biblios is often used, there are many books referred to as Bibles in Scripture some of them are ...
The book of Moses (Mark 12:26)
The book of Isaiah , Luke 4:17,18
The book of Psalms (; )
The book of the Prophets ()
The book of the Law Gal 3:10)

Inspiration of The Bible
Inspiration is necessary to preserve the revelation of God. If God has reveled Himself but the record of that revelation is not recorded accurately the revelation is subject to question.
Hence revelation guarantees the accuracy of the revelation.
Inspiration is God’s God’s superintendence of the human authors so that, using their own individual personalities, they composed and recorded without error His revelation to man in the words of the original autographs.
The Elements of Inspiration
The Divine Element
God the Holy Spirit superintended the writers ensuring the accuracy of the writings
The Human Element
Human authors wrote according to their individual styles and personalities.
The Inerrancy Element
The result of the human divine authorship is the result of recording Gods truth with no error.
Natural Inspiration
The writings aren't inspired the men were
Conceptual Inspiration : The concepts are inspired not the words.
Divine Dictation: The words of scripture and the men that wrote them down in a passive manner being mere secretaries who wrote only the words they were told
