Will you recognize the King today?

Jesus presented Himself for who He was (this was the first time he openly declared Himself the messiah)
He did this by
Jesus sent the disciples for the colt. (this was an intentional act)
He did this to claim His kingship (nkjv Matthew 21:4)
Matthew 21:4 NKJV
All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
Have you recognized Jesus?
Some in the crowd that day didn’t really recognize Jesus
Have you ever felt disallusioned?
This could be why! Some in the crowd on Palm Sunday became disillusioned with Jesus because the messiah they welcomed wasn’t the real messiah. (They believed His arrival to be the beginning of a physical overthrow of Roman rule)
We sometimes fail to recognize Him as the Kin of our hearts and instead relegate Him to only be the King of our circumstance.
He wants to be King of so much more than what goes on around you.
He wants to be the King of your desires
He wants to be the King of your ambitions
He wants to be the King of your affections
He wants to be the King of your heart!
They missed the significance of the donkey colt!
Kings who conquered by force typically rode a horse.
Jesus rode a donkey, this spoke of peace, humility and reconciliation
This was direct statement regarding the salvation that Jesus came to bring.

Will you recognize the King next Friday?

One short week later Jesus would look very different than he did on this day
His body would be broken, his face disfigured, he will have been subjected to torture specifically designed to make sure that one wouldn’t live long on the cross.
Next Friday He will not look like a conqueror in any human sense,
Next Friday He will not look like a conqueror in any human sense, if He is only the King of your circumstance , you certainly will be disappointed.
Most people who shouted Hosanna now shout “Crucify Him” (NKJV Luke 23:21)
Luke 23:21 NKJV
But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”
How many times do we do something similar? When trial arises , suffering comes, our desires are not fulfilled, God seemingly doesn’t respond to our requests , we question , we doubt, sometimes we even abandon.
The Jesus they hung on the cross was the same Jesus that had ridden into the city on the back of a donkey colt.
Will you proclaim Him the King today, and next Friday, and forever?
