Hebrews 12:1–2 KJV 1900
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Spray, R. E. (1991). Positive Sermon Outlines (p. 62). Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Book House.
A. Today’s world is filled with sin and evil. Satan is constantly trying to defeat God’s people.
B. When their faith is tested, some Christians give up in despair. They fail to make use of God’s conquering power.

E-ndure Hardness with Patience

2 Timothy 2:3 KJV 1900
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
A. Some Christians try to go to heaven on flowery beds of ease. Their lack of patience and endurance brings them to disappointment.
