When God Speaks To Our Fears

The angel of Yahweh came and sat under the oak that was at Ophrah that belonged to Jehoash the Abiezrite; and Gideon his son was threshing wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites.

12  The angel of Yahweh appeared to him and said to him, “Yahweh is with you, ⌊you mighty warrior⌋.”

13  Gideon said to him, “Excuse me, my lord. If Yahweh is with us, why then has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonderful deeds that our ancestors recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not Yahweh bring us up from Egypt?’ But now Yahweh has forsaken us; he has given us into the palm of Midian.”

14  And Yahweh turned to him and said, “Go in this your strength, and you will deliver Israel from the palm of Midian. Did I not send you?”

15  He said to him, “Excuse me, my lord. How will I deliver Israel? Look, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”

16  And Yahweh said to him, “But I will be with you, and you will defeat Midian ⌊as if they are one man⌋.”

Gideon’s story is one of humanity’s consistent pursuit to find out why God does what he does.  Matter of fact the questions to ask in this narrative is, “Where is God when you need him?"

Isreal in captivity has Gideon hiding to work and afraid of the midianites but most of all upset and complaining within and without as to why God would allow such to happen.

His response to the Lord is from what he has experienced and fear has settled in:

Gideon’s Fear-

Fear cripple you - has a tendency to either immobilize men or seriously affect their activity.Fear will isolate you Fear will frustrate you 

But fear can be overcome by trusting in the Lord and leaning not to your own understanding.

You see what you can’t do or what is impossible, when God sees what he made.

You see yourself one way but God sees you another way..

He created you and knows what he designed for you to be. He also started a good work in you. . And the last time I checked when he started a work it needed up magnificent.Fear will cripple you walk. Fear of your past, present, future, people, what you see, and your location. All of which are what we must face daily but a mind change about who God is will help you overcome.You will know and stand in what heaven said about you. -all things...He speaks to our fear with assurance. Gideon mighty man of valor, use the night and go and deliver.

16  And Yahweh said to him, “But I will be with you, and you will defeat Midian ⌊as if they are one man⌋.”

He has given us assurance that he will never leave us nor forsake us. We are his and he is ours. He is with us.....

The big deal here is Isreal was in captivity. They where being discapline but God will not go back on his promise to be our savior.It doesn’t matter where you are...Do not be afraid God will do what he said he would do...

You have to make a choice to believe God and remind yourself of who he is.  Anyone can say they believe but who do you believe in and what do you know.
