At The 6th Hour

A darkness covered the land for three hours. This is taken to believe that the hours were from 12:00 noon until 3:00.
Time reference is generally thought that time began at sunrise (6:00) or so.
states that “When morning had come” they took counsel on how to put Jesus to death. This led to his trial before Pontious Pilate. Despite many accusations, no fault was found in the Lord and Pontious Pilate wanted to let him go.
There was a custom that each year, during the Passover feast, Pontious Pilate would release for the people one prisoner, whoever they wanted. He offered to let Jesus go but the people, induced by the priests and religious leaders, chose a prisoner named Barabbas.
