1. Include God into your Life!
Deut 6:1-12
1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. 3 Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you. 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. 10 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you-- a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, 11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant-- then when you eat and are satisfied, 12 be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (NIV)
Ø Love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and with all your strength.
o Include the Lord and his word in your lives, every part.
o Don’t forget the Lord in your busyness of life.
2. Share your life that you have with and from God with others!
Ø Unity through coming together often and sharing their lives brought POWER SIGNS AND WONDERS!
Acts 2:42-47
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (NIV)
Acts 4:32-33
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. (NIV)
Ø Growing a church is a lot like raising a family.
1. You need Love – a unified group, a family, esteem recognition, acceptance, healing, help, encouragement, understanding, communication, etc..
2. Constancy – There has to be things that do not change. Learning to be the same under all conditions of life. i.e. temptation, good and bad times, sickness and health, etc..
3. Discipline – Training that corrects, forms, or perfects the mental abilities and moral character.
Communication of these values can change but the values themselves NEVER change!
We are starting 4 new home-groups next month. The Bible says the Body without the spirit is dead! That is why we will be taking time to share on this subject for the next few weeks. We will be searching for the spirit and importance of coming together in the homes, developing friendship and learning how e can be more effective at loving people outside of the church.
