I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength

Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

Think of this news spreading among believers!
[EXAMPLES]
(hope) - Mary Magdalene: healed of 7 demons

Imagine the freedom she experienced
A new hope and future opened up before her
Then, all was taken away! He died!
(inheritance) - Peter: Walked with Jesus who spoke of the Kingdom to come
But he denied Jesus out of fear of his own life - fear of inheriting the same fate as his Lord.

Imagine the guilt, “if maybe I could have testified”
Then, it was all too late. He died!
(power) - Those touched by His miracles...

What was it like for them to have Jesus taken from their lives?
[BUT] - He is risen!
News spread that the tomb was empty!
He’s not there! He’s risen as He said He would!
[ASK] - What did this news do in them?
[PAYOFF] - What does this news do in you?
There is an impact that the news of the risen King should bring you.
The Book of Ephesians cries out for believers to understand this impact and experience it in their own personal lives.
Ephesians 1:17

In the life we live, we’ve got to understand who WE are now...
Easter, the holiday, is all about Jesus.
Easter, the resurrection event, is all about US!
He did this for US!
We need to know what that is!
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
He is Risen!
He is Risen!
“HE IS RISEN!” - This was the message of the Church!
What did this message bring to those who heard it?...
[PAYOFF] - This is YOUR message today!
There is hope!
There is hope!
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Imagine the life Mary saw in Christ, as she followed the man who changed everything about her - her broken life and past.
Ephesians 2:
Then, she witnesses the Romans and Jews putting him to death.
Total dispair.
Yes, she heard Him say he would return, but that must have been lost on the horror of the beating and death she witnessed.
[BUT] - HE IS RISEN!
What does that message do in your heart this morning?
THERE IS HOPE!
[PAYOFF] - What chains of the past do you need broken, this morning, by the hope of the future?
There is an inheritance!
There is an inheritance!
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
Peter must have thought he lost it all.
Imagine the guilt of denying Christ.
Maybe he could have stopped the entire thing.
Now, Jesus is dead...
[BUT] - HE IS RISEN!
What does that message do in your heart this morning?
THERE IS AN INHERITANCE!
[PAYOFF] - What has been handed to you because of Christ? What has been given?
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
You have inherited light!
You have inherited mercy!
You have inherited eternal life!
There is power!
There is power!
not by works, so that no one can boast.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength
There were countless lives touched by His miracles.
Those few days after the crucifixion must have been such desperation to those who followed this man who could make the blind see and the lame walk...
Now, He is dead...
[BUT] - HE IS RISEN!
What does that message do in your heart this morning?
THER IS POWER!
[PAYOFF] - What unbearable burden… what immovable force… what crushing weight do you need His power for?
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength
he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
There is HOPE...
There is an INHERITANCE...
There is POWER… in each of us who believe!
[PAYOFF] - Are you risen with Him?

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
not by works, so that no one can boast.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
[PAYOFF] - He has a plan for you!
It starts with redeeming you back to himself.
Giving you hope!
Giving you an inheritance!
Giving you power!
All to fulfill His purpose for YOUR life!

He is risen, so we can live!
