55 “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:55-
Of all the things Jesus faced just in a four day time frame, Jesus conquered all of them. Especially, death!
If Easter to you is just a basket and eggs and candy, it is incomplete. If Easter is a day that you and your family get to dress up, Easter is incomplete. If Easter is a day that we can be with family and have a nice meal together, it is incomplete. I am not saying all these are bad, they are just incomplete. They do not bring lasting Hope.
True and lasting Hope is found in Jesus.
20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1. Because of Jesus’ Passion for us, we are conquerors.
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
“...
We have promise that not matter what comes our way. We will win.
this verse and those proceeding verse 37 is a great description that we are more than conquerers through Jesus Christ. Notice that the verse does not say exact how we will conquer. Notice that does not say exactly when we will win.
(The idea of sporting games. The goal is the "W". If you win by 20 points, it is a win. If you win by 2 points, it is a win. If you win in regulation, it is a win. If you win in double overtime with only your back up players, it is still a win.)
Yet with Christ, we are more than conquerors. When I read that verse, it tells me that we will defeat what ever comes our way. Now, I need to qualify. What about a love one who has died from some illness? We prayed and prayed for God to heal them. We had the faith of a mustard seed, but they were not healed. “Jason, they were not conquerors.” You are exactly right if we were just looking at life based on the the hear and now. What is right before our face. Those that believe in Christ, are in a place where their previous disease does not have any power over them. They are in a place with our God who created them and loves them. They are in a place where death can’t touch them anymore and they don’t just live a life time…they live forever. Here is the awesome thing! Those of us that believe in Christ, we will see them again.
I am holding on to the promise of God. No matter what comes my way, through Jesus Christ, I can and will conqueror it. Also, I am holding on to the promise that no matter what comes your way, through Jesus Christ, you will conqueror it!
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Does that give you Hope?
I truly hope it does!
2. Because of

2. Because of Jesus’ Passion for us, we have a living Hope.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
There are a variety of things, individuals, and situations that can cause us to be over come with fear. We know what it is like to just “shut down” and not know what to do. We literally do not move. A test in school that we were not ready for. An auto accident with an uninsured driver. A lost of a job that we thought was secure. An issue with our neighbor that causes us to not feel safe where we live. Struggles in our homes between family members that cause such heartache an unrest. Anyone of those can cause someone to lose Hope.
Hope isn’t just a Hope we have at one time in our life and no more. Hope through Christ is a Hope that is continuously. It is on going. It is a hope not only for eternity but also Hope in the moment.
ζῶσαν
ζῶσαν: “ to be life-productive, offer life” (Arndt, W., Danker, F. W., Bauer, W., & Gingrich, F. W. (2000). A Greek-English lexicon of the New Testament and other early Christian literature (3rd ed., p. 426). Chicago: University of Chicago Press.)

Another words, it is hope that gives us the ability to press on through any struggles, any challenges. Can we still be afraid and have questions? Absolutely! But as we take one step at a time, we can make it through.
(Story of Samwise Gamgee encouraging Frodo Baggins to just make it down the mountain.)
(focus on “…living hope...”)
(Need to explain “…crucified with Christ...”)
Yet, it is not based upon our own strength and tenacity. It is through God’s strength and power.
That verse tells me that some how we blow out the challenge or struggle that we are going through.)

BUT His resurrection is not the climax. His climax is what it means to us and for all generations past, present, and future. (Reference book, especially time line.)
