Without Jesus having risen, our faith is in vain. Peter RAN to the tomb, saw it was empty (as Jesus said it would be), and wondered what happened.
On the road to Emmaus, followers of Jesus were leaving Jerusalem - knowing that the tomb was empty (as Jesus said it would be). After Jesus met them where they were, their eyes were opened and they encountered the truth of the Gospel: Christ is Risen!
