And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.
Ani Daaudle aaphno haat jholaa-bhitra haale…
This was an important part of the battle.
David put his hand into his bag
And took out a stone
He used that stone to defeat Goliath
When we go into battle we need to have our weapons(hatiyaar)
Our sword - God’s Word
But when David put his hand in his bag, it gives us a reminder(yaad)
It reminds us of his preparation
He put his hand into his bag because he had prepared before
Without that preparation(tayaari), he would have nothing in the bag
And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.

We should be like David
We should prepare for our battles
No, you don’t need to carry around smooth stones in your bag
But we need to prepare for our spiritual battle
Many believers know truth
They listen to good preaching
They have good intentions(iraada/ichha)
But they do not find victory
They are defeated by fear, sin, and the flesh, and Satan
Why?
Often, because they do not prepare!
God put Moses in the wilderness for 40 years
To prepare him for service!
God commands for us to share the gospel!
But have you prepared?
Memorized verses for salvation plan?
Write notes?
Practice?
Pray?
Put tracts in your pockets?
Have you prepared?
Do not be amazed by defeat(haar)
God commands us to pray! often!
Have you prepared?
Make a schedule? (this is my prayer time!)
Prepare a list?
Find a quiet spot?
Have you prepared?
Do not be amazed by defeat(haar)!
Farmer goes to plant
Goes without seed, tools, laborers
His field is unplowed(halo jotindaina)
His work will not be good!
We need to prepare!
We want miracles(chamatkaar)
Give me a stone
Without work
Give me a stone
Without preparation
Because we are lazy Christians
We want the blessings of God
We want the rewards
We want the victory
But we don’t want to work
God does not reward(inaam) laziness or lack of preparation!
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
...Kinaki maanisle je chharchha, tyasaiko kaTani pani garnechha.
When you sow(charnu) in preparation, you will reap(kaTani garnechha) in victory.
There were good stones for throwing in the stream
David should prepare!
Pick them up!
We want a voice from heaven
We want great wisdom
But we don’t read the God given Bible
Lazy, unprepared Christians!
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Sleeve(baahulaa/aabaran)
Prepare our mind
Sometimes preparation is getting things out of the way
Remove(haTaaunu) distractions(byaakulataa-haru)
So you can think about serious things.
Yes, even good things(sleeves- bad?)
We need to meditate(manan)
Do you want victory in spiritual battles?
Make your your battle plan
Get your supplies
Make yourself ready
More than 5 minutes
Work
Dedication(samarpan)
Put the stones in your bag and be ready for battle!
