WHY WE NEED A SAVIOR.

Welcome to our Easter Service this morning.
There are three services in churches around America, that always draws more people in the house of God, then any other Sunday service.
1. Easter
2. Christmas Eve
3. Mother’s Day
Today is Easter Sunday!
Last Sunday was Palm Sunday, that was a special service for us at Friendship Baptist Church as while.
Palm Sunday is where our Lord Jesus Christ made His triumphant entry in Jerusalem, and 120 hours later He was crucified on the cross and buried in a tomb.
Here we are Easter Sunday, 3 days later.
The Tomb is Empty.
Our Lord Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead Victorious over sin!
1 Corinthians 15:20–22 KJV 1900
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

This morning I’m speaking on the subject “WHY WE NEED A SAVIOR.”
I Have four point I want to bring out, plus one bonus point for free, $1,000.00 donation if I where a television evangelist.

I. The Need For A Savior.

Why is there a need for a Savior?
Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
: 12
The need for a Savior is the direct result of Adam and Eve’s sin in the Garden.
The book of Genesis is the book that tells the account of God’s Creation.
Gen
God Created:
The Heaven and Earth
Light and Darkness
The Firmament
The Waters, and The Dry Ground
The Grass and The Trees
The Fish, The Animals, and The Insects
Man and Woman
I believe in the Big Bang Theory, don’t you?
God Said it and Bang It Happen!
God Created everything in Six Literal Days, and Rested on the Seventh Day!
God put man in the Garden of Eden, and told him to dress it and to keep it. (Care Taker of the Garden)
He told Adam to name all the animals
Can you imagine Adam’s Vocabulary?
Walking around the Garden, looks at an animal, saying
“You look like a dog.”
“You look like a cow.”
“You look like a hippopotamus.”
Imagine!
God also Commanded man (Adam) NOT TO EAT of The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Thou Shalt Not Eat of I
The day that you eat of it you will surely die.
Physical Death
Spiritual Death (The Separation From God)
Before the fall of man, God walked and talked with man on the earth.
The Spiritual Death, caused us to lose that personal relationship with God.
Making a need for a Savior, to bridge that gap so, we could have that close relationship with God once more.
Genesis 2:16–17 KJV 1900
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Genesis 2:16
2. Then Sin entered the world.
Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans
3. The Sin in the Garden.
2. The Sin in the Garden.
Genesis 3:1–7 KJV 1900
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

From that Sin in the Garden.
Come the First Mosaic Promise.
The Promise of a Savior.

II. The Promise Of A Savior.

Genesis 3:15 KJV 1900
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis
Verse 15 tells how Satan is our enemy.
He will do anything he can to get us to follow evil.
Satan Hates God!
The Phrase “Thou (Satan) shalt bruise his (Jesus) heel”
Refers to Satan’s repeated attempts to defeat Jesus Christ during His life on earth.
The Phrase “It (Jesus) shall bruise thy(Satan) head”
It foreshadows Satan’s defeat when Jesus Christ rose from the dead in Victory over sin.
A bruise on the heel is not deadly, but a strike on the head is.
We can see God revealing His plan in verse 15:
To Defeat Satan.
Offer Salvation to the World,
Through His Son, Jesus Christ.

III. The Prophecy Of A Savior.

Isaiah 53:1–12 KJV 1900
1 Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, And as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, Yet he opened not his mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, And with the rich in his death; Because he had done no violence, Neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; For he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, And he shall divide the spoil with the strong; Because he hath poured out his soul unto death: And he was numbered with the transgressors; And he bare the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
Isaiah

IV. The Fulfillment Of a Savior.

The Birth of a Savior.
Luke 2:8–16 KJV 1900
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, Good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Beth-lehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
Matthew 1:21–23 KJV 1900
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

5. The Resurrected Savior.
Luke 24:1–8 KJV 1900
1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words,

6. The Ascended Savior.
Acts 1:9–11 KJV 1900
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
The Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled the Promise.
The Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled the Prophecy.
The Lord Jesus Christ Died.
The Lord Jesus Christ was Buried.
The Lord Jesus Christ Rose from the Dead.
The Lord Jesus Christ Gave us the Gospel.
The Gospel is the;
Death,
Burial,
Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But wait this is my Bonus Point!

V. Our Savior Is Coming Back Soon!

It’s called the Rapture.
Many say, “I can’t wait till the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
I Can!
Why?
The Rapture of the Church is FIRST.
If you are around for the Second Coming, That means your not SAVED, and you went through the Great Tribulation.
I plan on coming back with the Lord Jesus Christ for the Second Coming, riding on a White Horse in white appeal beside the Lord Himself
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 KJV 1900
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Rapture is the NEXT GREAT EVENT ON GOD’S PROPHETIC CALENDAR!
No Human,
No Angel,
Not even the Lord Jesus Christ,
Knows when this Great Event will take place.
Matthew 24:36 KJV 1900
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
All, but one of the prophecies of the Bible has been fulfilled.
One to go.
Are you ready?
I don’t know what is in your heart.
Only you and God knows that.
We don’t know when we will die.
All I can tell you is what the Bible say’s on that subject.
Hebrews 9:27 KJV 1900
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews
Hebrews 9:27–28 KJV 1900
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
James 4:14 KJV 1900
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
James 4:
: 27-
We don’t know what our future hold, only God knows.
My questions is ARE YOU READY TO MEET GOD?
Pray
I just want to ask a few simple questions, while heads are bowed, Christian’s praying.
If you where to die this second, Do you know where you would GO?
If your eyes where to close in death, Would You open your eyes in Heaven or Hell.
I won’t Sugar Coat Salvation.
If you where to die without accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior You are heading straight to Hell, and there is no second chances after death.
If the Lord Jesus Christ Rapture His Church this second, and you don’t know Him, it will to late.
Why would anyone wish to play Russian Roulette with their Eternity?
Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ?
And if you do know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior!
I know you know His name.
I’m talking about as your Personal Savior!
You may be here and say, “I know Him, but i’m drifting further away.”
Do you want to get that relationship back?
Or are you looking for a New Church Home?
If you feel that God is leading you to Friendship Baptist.
We would love to have you join and be apart of this ministry.
Won’t you come.
As James leads us in a invitational hymn.
