The Destruction of the Old Model
Luke
while the sun’s light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
For thus says the Lord,
who created the heavens
(he is God!),
who formed the earth and made it
(he established it;
he did not create it empty,
he formed it to be inhabited!):
“I am the Lord, and there is no other.
The Curtain torn in two...
The Way made to the Father
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.

and he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

Jesus at Prayer
1. Jesus prayed on his own
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

[The night before Jesus chose twelve of his disciples to be his apostles] Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
3. Jesus prayed in times of spiritual conflict
[Just before Jesus was arrested] he [Jesus] withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them [his disciples], knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
4. Jesus prayed from the cross
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

Isn't it amazing that Three out of the seven sayings were prayers
1st prayer He said Father
The second prayer He said My God-
The Third Prayer He says Father
We see the Intimacy of the Prayer
Father : The very first recorded Words of Jesus He was talking about His Father
Now His last Words recorded He still talking about His Father
Commitment / Entrust
Jesus Died The way that He Lived: A Man of the Word
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.
Every Saying He mentioned Has His Foundation in The Word
Why is Pastor teaching you how to study the Word?
Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.
The Death of the Savoir
He literally Died
1 Cor :
He died Physically
But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.
According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
Through His Death He Gained Victory over Evil
Through His Death we Gained A Full Extent of The Love of the Father
The Divine Theater
Through His Death we gain Salvation
Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!”
