Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

The path of the Holy Spirit

  • From Righteousness to: Right with God
  • From Peace to: Right with ourselves
  • Joy Right with the world
  • in the Holy Spirit

RIGHTEOUSNESS : Right with God

Rom 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (NIV)

Rom 3:22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (NIV)

Right with Iraq? America? EU?  The real question is am I right with God?

PEACE : Right with ourselves

John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

eirene

1) A state of national tranquility, exemption from the rage and havoc of war

2) Peace between individuals, that is, harmony, concord

3) Security, safety, prosperity, (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous)

4) Used of the Messiah's peace, the way that leads to peace (salvation)

5) Used of Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is

6) The blessed state of devout and upright men after death

Am I right with myself?

JOY : Right with the world

John 15:10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

John 16:24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Rom 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (NIV)
