I Jn 5:1-5

1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (NIV)

The desire is enough to lose it, but not enough to keep it.

Matt 16:25 for whoever wants (desires) to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. (NIV)

Wants to…it did not say they were doing it. This is not only for those that have attained! The desire to save it was enough to lose it! But we have to notice that it did not say the desire to lose it was enough! The only thing that works before God is action!

Ø  You will not stand before God for what you did, but for what you should have done.

o   There are a lot of people that are doing what they want to in the name of God. We pick and choose what is easier or what we feel like and then we expect the blessing and the Victory in Jesus.

Luke 9:57-62

57 As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go."

58 Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." 59 He said to another man, "Follow me." But the man replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." 60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God." 61 Still another said, "I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say good-by to my family." 62 Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God." (NIV)

Jesus knew that there would be those that are more concerned with their comfort than with following the Lord. Let me first…!

Ø  Many are called few are chosen. Many say they will do anything for God but where are they? Do it!

Luke 18:29 "I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life." (NIV)

Acts 5:-10 Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira..
