Introduction

Faith defined by Scripture:
Hebrews 11:1 ESV
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
How do you know you have faith in something?
As you discussed that, you probably discussed reasons for having that faith in something. There are reasons you have faith in the chair that you are sitting in. There are reasons that you have faith in your friends and adults you trust. In the same way, there are reasons to have faith in Jesus, faith in Jesus is not blind. Before we dive into the scriptures, let me share with you what I believe is the most compelling argument for putting your faith in Jesus even when you have questions about other things.
If the resurrection is true, which based on those reasons listed by McDowell is the most reasonable explanation of the evidence, then what do we do with Jesus? The proper response is faith.
Today we are continuing our study of Jesus and the Outsiders and learning from Jesus what faith is and what faith does.

Text

Luke 17:11–19 CSB
11 While traveling to Jerusalem, he passed between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he entered a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 When he saw them, he told them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And while they were going, they were cleansed. 15 But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God. 16 He fell facedown at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus said, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Didn’t any return to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And he told him, “Get up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.”
