Sermon Tone Analysis

Welcome

Intro -

As we look at what has happened this week, I wanted to recap what we started out as this year

If you will recall that this year we set out to be different if you will

We talked about the fact that things can not and will not be the same

you cannot stay where you are and go with God

We talked about how this church would begin to change the way we do things,

We cannot go with God as a church and stay where we are and continue business as normal

You cannot go with God as an individual and stay where you are and continue business as normal

Do you remember that we said we are going to be different this year

Do you remember that we said we would begin to focus on sharing the Gospel

If you will recall the State of the Church Address

the purpose of the church is to share the Gospel and in years past we have done a great job of preaching the Gospel but maybe not so good at sharing the Gospel in our everyday lives

We also talked about on March 10th a Company would come in and teach us our to teach and share the Gospel

We went out and we learned how to share the Gospel, granted this is one of many ways to share the Gospel

Remember the outcome of the hour sharing the Gospel

We are planning to grow that as we train more people in how to share the Gospel

We are going to enter into a 2 year contract with One Conversation that will challenge us to share the Gospel as a church

We also started to pray and fell that God would explode onto the scene in 2018

Remember we talked about the Church from Lenexa who sought us out and how I shared the background about that.

the back ground is while talking with them they are doing this sort of mission trip up in Canada, but what you may not know is that about 15-16 years ago, I was in Canada praying that God would move in that area, I firmly believe that part of the answer to our prayers is this church going up there and blessing other churches and helping them reach people for Christ in that area

They reached out to us because they wanted to help a church reach the community for Christ and help teach them how to do this

Church I believe God exploded onto the scene

We started out the year praying and expecting God to do God sized things here at MBF

So let me explain what happened

Abraham is obedient to Gods call

Abraham is living life and it doesn't say but He must have had some sort of relationship with God when God calls Him

God calls him and asks him to leave his home and go to a place that he will find out later

Can you image Abraham at this point

We all know if had been Abraham how this would have gone, but Abraham is an example to us at this point

Abraham is simple obedient

Abraham is obedient when God calls Him

Church we are to be obedient when God calls us

Now we know the rest of the story of Abraham

Because He is obedient God makes him the father of a great nation!

All because he is obedient

Let me tell you something else

Jesus is walking looking for people to walk with Him

He came upon 2 brothers at work, and calls them to follow Him

Most of us have been given the opportunity like this and we use the excuse that we need this job, we cant share Jesus at work, now is not the time

the brothers drop what they are doing, and are obedient

Jesus then comes to another set of brothers, and gives them the same call

Again the drop what they are doing and are obedient,

now what happens because these 4 men are obedient

they change the world, we are still talking about what they did

They were simply obedient

These 5 men were that just men, but they were obedient

They were not perfect by any mens

really they were a lot like you and I

So let me tell you what happened this weekend

The body of Christ at MBF was obedient

That doesn't mean everything was perfect, or it was just 5 people who did something

But the Body at MBF was obedient

You see when the church starts to pray and is obedient God moves

You see when the church at MBF started to pray and was obedient, we were able to bless the New Hope Food pantry with paint and cleaning, and because we did that so fast on Thursday they went canvassing shared Christ with some people and one person makes a profession of Faith

because we were obedient someone came to know Christ

Then on Friday they canvassed the area and because they were obedient, they were able to pray with a number of people and another person came to know Christ

Because they were obedient to go door to door in the cold windy weather someone comes to know Christ!

Then we get to Saturday, yesterday

because this body of Christ at MBF was obedient, and we understand it was not just us there, but Lenexa Baptist was obedient to reach out to use, and we were obedient to God calling us

1034 people came through the doors of the church yesterday

the eye clinic met with 110 people

168 families went to the shoe table

786 people went and got food from out food pantry

we ran out of food almost twice

5 pound bag of noodles are gone

Church because we were obedient we were able to pray with 388 people in this room

Church because we were obedient we were able to share the Gospel with 181 people

1 Person recommitted their life to Christ

8 people yesterday gave their lives to Christ

Church this is what happens when we go deeper into the Garden

This is what happens when we are obedient and go deeper

This what a roller coaster of a weekend

Had it been left to use, it would have failed miserably

But church this is what happens when you and I are obedient to the call of Christ

So what is God calling you to be obedient to?

I want to invite you not to the front to do anything for anyone else

I simple want to invite you to be obedient

God is simple asking for you to be obedient nothing more nothing less just our obedience

God will take care of the rest

Maybe God is calling you into a relationship through His son Jesus

Maybe God is calling you to join this church

Whatever God is calling you to, would you just be obedient?
