*2 Pet 1:3-13 *His divine power has given us *everything we need for life and godliness* through *our knowledge of **him* who called us by his own glory and goodness.

4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you *may participate in the divine nature* and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

v  How can I practically KNOW HIM?

*2 Pet 1:5-8 *(TLB)

5 But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough.

For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do.

6 Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you.

7 This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply.

8 The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ.

*Matt 25:32-40*

32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

35 *For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' *37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, *whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'*

o   I am getting to know him everyday, but do I realize it?

15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

16 Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"

He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."

17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?"

He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.
