Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. ROMANS THE FIFTH GOSPEL God has a purpose for this message today…Family, we must Know what we believe. Condemnation – Is the world lost? For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ Salvation --------- How does God save sinners? for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth Vindication --------Why is Israel rejected? to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Exhortation --------How shall a saved man walk? For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. CONDEMNATION I. The Heathen Condemned Wrath is revealed Rom 1:18   For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  Ungodliness – sin against God, Commandments 1-4 Unrighteousness – sin against man. Commandments 5-10 Wrath is deserved Rom 1:21   Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened .  because they knew God, they weren’t ignorant. They willingly rejected Jesus. They are without excuse! Wrath is inflicted Rom 1:26   For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  Rom 1:27   And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. God gave them over to a reprobate mind. II. The Moral Man Condemned Condemned by his own judgement Rom 2:1   You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. God is not fooled Rom 2:9  Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;  Rom 2:10  But glory, honour, and peace, to EVERY man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:  Rom 2:11  For there is no respect of persons with God.  III. The Whole World Condemned There is none righteous, no, not one:  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  Their throat is an open sepulchre; The Indictment with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:  Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:  Their feet are swift to shed blood:  Destruction and misery are in their ways:  the way of peace have they not known:  There is no fear of God before their eyes. The Verdict Rom 3:19   Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.  Rom 3:20   Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.   The Purpose of the message was that you know what you believe. The first thing to KNOW is that we are sinners, condemned and in need of a Savior. Man’s hard heart has turned him away from God. Rom 3:9   What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;  Man’s sin has separated him from God. Rom 3:23   For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  Time to face the Judge!
