Great tranquility results when the Prince of Peace is present.

“A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.

Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion.

The disciples woke him and said to him,

‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet!

Be still!’

Then the wind died down and it was completely calm” ().

He can calm any storm no matter how great the wind or the waves become in our lives.

Yet it seems....

On the other hand, sometimes He does not calm the storm for people who think independently of God and with their own intellect try to deal with this storm on their own...

Let me say this though, if a man encounters Jesus he will feel the peace of God’s presence and it can effect anybody’s actions to be changed if they apply the word.

If you will turn in your bible to PHIL 4:2-9....

I will show you several admonitions that, if we adhere to them, you will “have a mind of peace”.

2 I beseech YOOdia, and beseech SINtiKee, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Final Exhortations

4 Rejoice in the Lord always.

I will say it again: Rejoice!

5 Let your gentleness be evident to all.

The Lord is near.

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.

And the God of peace will be with you.

Paul was writing to the Church at phillipi from his prison cell, this was anything but a joyful moment for him, his letter was to thank the church because he recieved a financial gift from them.

Fortunately he returned to phillipi and rejoiced greatly whenever he thought of them.

But now, Paul is back and there is a disagreement with two woman in the church.

Help

I’m sure beneath this disagreement laid a self-seeking, self-serving attitude.

Which conflicts with the attitude of Christ.

I remember a couple guy’s who rented a house from someone in the church: (Bill & ED)

But one in the house of God.

We would beg them to make peace.

When there is a dispute, you have to sometimes get an outside help who won’t take sides, but bring peace.

Unity will always bring.......

God desires that each of us strive for peace.

Tranquility comes from truth and truth sets us free, If we want harmony in the church, it must come through the word....

A person’s foot has no conflict with his hand when there is proper communication with the brain.

Prayer is a good action to take if were joined together, When someone is in a storm we need to pray.

Yo-Dia and SintiKee, members in the church at Philippi, had a problem between themselves that reached a level whereby Paul believed it was necessary to state their names when writing to that church.

“I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to agree with each other in the Lord” ().

We must each be on guard concerning our influence among other members of the body.

Works of the flesh divide us.

Being a Peacemaker proves your a Child of God.

Paul called upon an unknown “yokefellow” to help bring peace between these two former laborers of his.

He meant a team member so to speak,

There is a difference between being a peacemaker and a meddler.

A peacemaker may not say anything, but simply monitor a situation in prayer.

A peacemaker may become a circuit breaker of gossip.

A peacemaker can bring unity by refusing to take sides.

But, become busy with the kingdom of God and you will find...

PEACE IN THE HEART

It will make you Joyful in the Lord

Paul was encouraging the Philippians to be joyful at all times, no matter what the circumstances.

Joy: Beneficial In Every Way

Scientists have been studying the effect of laughter on human beings and have found, among other things, that laughter has a profound and instantaneous effect on virtually every important organ in the human body.

Laughter reduces health-sapping tensions and relaxes the tissues as well as exercising the most vital organs.

It is said that laughter, even when forced, results in beneficial effect on us, both mentally and physically.

Next time you feel nervous and jittery, indulge in a good laugh.

Sometime having fun together can bring a Joy.
