James 3:13 KJV 1900
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
James
1. James has been dealing with the tongue. Now he deals with wisdom.
a.” Wise-man” Someone wise and had understanding. It is speaking of someone who has spiritual disinterment and discretion. Someone who has the ability to see clearly what is right and to act accordingly.
a. Who ever is wise, let him show by the behavior of his deeds.
b. Show: To demonstrate. good conduct, show by his good life.
c. Our behavior will indicate wisdom. Some people are intellectually brilliant, but live foolishly and destructive.
c. Also “meekness (gentleness) of your wisdom)
d. God’s wisdom will issue consistent action, that is inline with God’s will.
“Conversation” (Behavior)
e. Wisdom (Heavenly) is seen by our behavior. How one conducts himself.
f. Meekness (gentleness) of wisdom. Meekness is one the noblest characteristic of a Christian. One of the fruits of the spirit.
g. Meekness in the opposite of bitterness.
James 3:14 KJV 1900
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
James 3:14 NASB95
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
The evidences of of the rule of false wisdom on one’s life are bitter envying (jealousy) and strife.
a. The word suggest harshness or a resentful attitude.
b.Jealousy is described as “bitter” because it originates in bitter (resentful) felling’s and manifest itself in bitter (resentful) actions.
“Strife in your heart” NASB “Selfish ambition”
a. Wanting things our own way.
b. Self ambition can drive a person to push their way to the top.
c. But the wise allow God to coordinate the moves for them, allowing him to open the door.
“and lie against the truth”
The truth is referring to the gospel.
James 3:15 KJV 1900
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
This kind of wisdom, is not Godly wisdom. The wisdom of our self ambition, is from the devil.

This verse tells us the effects produced by a counterfeit wisdom.
a. Where there is a spirit of jealousy, and selfish ambition, the result will be confusion, and every kind of vile deed.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
Wisdom from above: Godly Wisdom .
James 1:5 KJV 1900
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

“Is first pure”
a. Not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material. (Pure-bred)
b. The wisdom from God is pure.
“Peaceable”
d. Inclined to avoid war; free from conflict.
“Gentile”
e. Mild and kind; gentile breeze
“Easy to be intreated”
f. Free from worry or problems; presenting few difficulties.
“Full of mercy”
g. Compassion, forgiveness shown towards an enemy.
“Good fruit”
h. All the above are going to bear good fruit.
“Without partiality”

2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
James 2:2
“Without hypocrisy”
j. Means true wisdom is sincere, genuine.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
