Introduction and Congregational Address:
I am diligently seeking God in a way that I believe is speaking patience into this effort for installing leadership.
Even though the past five years have I grown to love and know Roeser as a youth minister, interim minister, and now minister called to lead and equip this congregation for many decades to come.
This journey is quite different, I ask that you respect and love the mission that God is calling me to do and know that patience is key right now.
I am not here to further the mission of those who came before me but here to do what the Holy Spirit is guiding me to do.
As prescribed in Titus he is told to appoint men to serve the flock in a manner.
I have consulted some of the greatest minds I know evangelically.
I have spent a lot of time in prayer, and study and believe God is directing me to have patience with this process seeing that this process has been started multiple times before, I do not believe that it warrants me to make a decision based on my predecessors visions.
I am not here to continue their mission or finish what they have started, I am here to trust God and do what he has called me to do.
I am aware that a date was set but through prayer fasting and study I have come to the realization that more patience neds to be done in effort to understand this position of service.
The potential candidates and their wives along with my wife and I will continue to work together to build a leadership team that will serve this flock for decades to come.
Your Value
Understand that your value is designated by God and no one else.
An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
I want to remind you of last week in which we discussed the advice given to King Lemuel by his mother in which she says do not give your strength away to women.
That word strength and the word excellent or worthy or more well known as virtuous translate to the same descriptions.
A woman of power, wealth, owner of property, a woman of class.
God gives you your value, not any man.
Worth more than rubies:
A ruby is a specific jewel
A ruby is a strong jewel, registering second only to diamonds on the mohs scale.
Understand that something so value it not just lying around anywhere.
“Who can find”, it takes some searching.
A trustworthy woman does not need any extra when her husband is handling his business.
She is strong, worthy, and able - The question ask who can find a fine wife?
God created you for us, we would be nothing without you!
Every man in this room would not be here had it not been for a woman taking care of herself enough to give birth.
Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
Are you familiar with your mom or a woman stating she wears many hats?
She’s more than a wife, she’s a doctor, a chef, a teacher, a psychologist.
No one can add value to her worth but God.
The woman is a being of empowerment not subservience.
Understand when the text says so that he shall ave no need of spoil, basically saying he will not lack anywhere because of her prudent care she exercises over his resources.
She attributes to the welfare of her husband she does not bring about calamity in his life purposefully.
The kingdom woman is a provider.
She more than just a housewife, she more than just a working mother, she is more than just a mom who teaches!
Her compass of productivity and care extend far beyond the things she does daily.
She looks for wool and flax.
She looks for the best deals, she works magic with her hands, the text says she is like merchant ships.
Merchant ships come in all shapes and sizes.
Deliver all sorts of merchandise, from items in bulk to tanker vessels carrying fragile liquids.
Her work domestically expands beyond the house, the things she does in the home can change the world.
Thank God for the virtuous woman!
She is effective and efficient in matters of business.
She brings food from afar, she rises also while it is still night.
I remember hearing movement in the kitchen and around the house in the early hours of the morning from my mother and grandmother.
She provides her family in ways that strengthen them.
Not only does she provide for her household but for her maidens!
Yes the virtuous woman had maidens.
Understand that her foresight is over the house, she is energetic in meeting the needs of her family and confident about her ability to do such.
She uses hospitality to minister to those around her.
The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior becometh as holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.
You cannot do these things except you be hospitable.
She lives with adequate foresight!
Mind you the ability to provide well being for her household is a reoccurring theme in this text.
Verse 13, 19, 21, 22, 27, 28 speak to the virtuous woman being efficient in matters of business.
Even when the woman is guilty of sin, Jesus still declares her value!
