When it comes to anxiety, we can all agree that it takes a lot out of us.
It's like those times when the day is over and we're just spent, not knowing what we did to make us this tired.
It's because we were anxious all day long.
Let's just go ahead and all agree that being anxious/nervous wears us out.
In these times, don't you wish you could live in a world that was "worry-free?"
In these times, don't you wish you could live in a world that was "worry-free?"
As we find ourselves at the end of in our Refuge series, we are going to see how to be anxious-free.
(Is that even possible?)
We can live anxious-free by:
I. Letting Go and Letting God
The writer of this psalm is facing conflict from his enemies.
So in this moment, he is very anxious, not knowing what to do, but knowing he needs to do something relieve himself from worrying.
It's most likely that he did not find rest from the worry game.
The worry probably caused him to lose sleep or not want to do anything until it was resolved.
Have you been there?
In the place where you could not do anything else until what you were worried about was taken care of?
In the place where you could not do anything else until what you were worried about was taken care of?
I have!
I have!

The psalmist here does an interesting thing in the middle of his anxiety about his enemies: he let go.
He let go of what the was making him worry and the worry itself.
Why would he do that?
Because when you let go, it doesn't just hit the ground and you give up, but you let go and give it to God.
TRUTH: Let go and let God
When we let go and give our situation to God, we are not empty handed, but we gain something - PEACE.
See, at one time, we possessed anxiety.
As soon as we hand off our anxiety to God, we immediately receive God's peace.
It's peaceful to trust God with the things that come up in our lives.
Actually, God wants to you do that.
He wants your stuff!
God's saying,
"GIVE IT TO ME!
I CAN HANDLE IT"
I think a lot of the times we dismiss God when we are anxious/worried, because we have this belief that God is not interested in what we have going on.
It's as if we think God has other things going on to handle.
That's not true student, in matter fact, God is very interested in YOU and what you have GOING ON...right now.
God wants you to let go and let Him handle it.
Because until you do, you will not the peace that only He can provide.
Peace does not exist if it’s not in God.
And the only way to have peace in your life is to let go.
When you let go and let God, you are brought back to all the realities and promises of God for your life.
What once stressed you out and worried you to death now becomes little to you now.
Not only does it become little, but you are confident that God’s going to work it out the way He wants to, that will ultimately exalt Him.
Some of you have been holding on to what’s worrying you for days or even months.
Students, let go and let God handle it.
Give it to Him.
