A) Sending is from apostle (sent as an envoy), in this verb tense, it emphasizes the continuing results of the sending – ie. God’s love is evident in that He sent His Son
B) Only begotten speak of the new nature that the Word accepted in being sent to us –
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
C) Into the world emphasizes the separation between this world and God’s world – – a separation that also must characterize those who belong to Him
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

A) God’s love is shown in that He wants us to live – , ;
Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.

A) Love is not defined by man’s actions, but by what God does for us
B) Never glory in what do for God, but what God does for us –
“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Concl: John tells us that this is love – the love that God has shown in sending His Son as the redemption price for our sins – ; . Any other definition of love falls short of that manifestation.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
