O-B-E-Y THE LORD
Text: (NLT)

But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.

O-ccupied

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

A. Those who fail to work for God disobey His command. They lose a blessing by failing to be a blessing to others.

B. We should witness to the unsaved and seek to win them to Jesus Christ. We obey the Lord when we labor in His vineyard

tells us:

The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends.

B-elieving

“… all things are possible to him that believeth”

22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” 23“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

A. Disbelief displeases God. It holds back His blessings and hinders His wonder-working power.

B. Miracles occur when we believe. We need faith in order to obey. Obedience brings victory through Him.

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.

E-nduring

You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth?

7 You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth?

A. Some do not obey the truth. When testing and trials come, they fail to continue in the Christian life. They are easily defeated.

B. We must persevere and withstand the onslaught of the enemy. Endurance brings victory.

“A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. 22 And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel.

A. Many fail to surrender their all to God. They want their own way and try within their own strength to live for Christ.

B. We must yield our wills to God. By giving Him first place we are able to be a blessing and thereby bring glory to the Lord.

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.
