Daniel

God has a call that he makes on everyone’s life. Daniel has been out of the main stream of Political power since the end of the Babylonian empire in their defeat by the Medes and Persians and now after two years at the ripe old age of 83 he is summoned by Darius the King to be given a very important role in the government The first thing we learn in the first three verses from is stand up people get promoted
The first thing that happens to a person who walking in integrity is promotion

PROMOTION

. .
Daniel 6:3 NIV
Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
Daniel 6:1–3 NIV
It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom, with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss. Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
At this ti. e in 538 BC Darius is setting up the second great world empire following Babylon Unlike Babylon in which the king ruled as an absolute monarch Darius is setting up an Oligarchy in which there would be governance by many in this case 120 provincial governors and because there were differing levels of dishonesty in the official’s in the lower levels of government three senior positions were shed to oversea the one of whom was Daniel. Of the three governors the King was most impressed by Daniel and selected him to be the Prime Minister over the empire. Why? he had shown that he had a good spirit, that he was walking in the Holy Spirit. Daniel is above all else honest and has integrity.
When people seek to honor God in their work places or communities or homes they can be subject of ridicule, however when others have problems in their lives they will not go looking for the party goer or the clown they will come looking for a person with a moral backbone, somebody who stands up the right values for someone that they can trust.
Note the second thing about stand up people they are

Persecuted

.
Daniel 6:4 NIV
At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
What Daniel did was done with honesty, integrity and grace
The problem was board room Jealousy how dare he be promoted over me I am just AS GOOD
Envy always hates the excellence that it cannot reach
We read in .
Daniel 6:6–9 NIV
So these administrators and satraps went as a group to the king and said: “May King Darius live forever! The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den. Now, Your Majesty, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.” So King Darius put the decree in writing.
One hundred and nineteen agreed, as I imagine Daniel was never consulted over the plan
Stand up people are also

Persistent

.
Daniel 6:10 NIV
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
Daniel was faithful, fearless and courageous. He was consistent and followed the same daily pattern when he knew what had happened did not:
Stand down = cowardice
Stand aside = compromise
Stand against = anger
What did Daniel do

He stood up = conviction

we come to the forth point. Stand up people are often promoted, open to be persecuted. tend to be persistent stand up people are also

Protected

God is always with us .
Matthew 28:19–20 NIV
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Here is a little saying to help deal with fear
Gods person in the centre of God’s will is immortal until God is finished with them
