We are starting a brand new series today called “The Other Six Days.”
We go to the church meeting building on Sunday. While there we sing songs of praise, we pray to God and we read Scripture.
So can we check off our “Christian box” for the week?
I love to sing songs of praise to the Lord. Especially when no one is looking or more importantly in range of hearing me.

Praising God is SO much more than just singing to Him. It is our entire life.
So what does living a life of praise look like?
If we are the church? We come together on Sunday and we praise the Lord as a family. What are the other six days supposed to look like?
Please turn with me to the book of Hebrews.
This letter to the Hebrews was written to Christians in danger of drifting into the old ways. The way they did everything before Christ. (see )
15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
There was a time on a priest could bring a sacrifice to the Lord. Because of Jesus Christ all Children of God and bring sacrifices to the Lord.
a continual sacrifice of praise is such a powerful part of the Christian life.
Your self.
When daily life tears us down. When fatigue and discouragement take our feet out from underneath us...
We must “continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise”
Your finances.
a sacrifice of praise.
“Wait Pastor, I thought you just said that praise and worship is our daily life and not just singing?”
True...
a sacrifice of service and good works.
praise God with your schedule
praise God with your finances
praise God with your career
praise God with your family.
These are all items that we must daily praise the Lord with and sacrifice these to Him.
Now back to singing praise...
Singing to the Lord will bring...
joy, peace, energy, strength, freedom
When we understand this we won’t continually walk around whining like a spoiled brat.
Just in case you are thinking. We if I praise God continually in these ways then all is good. Hold up we still have verse 16.
We must not forget to do good towards and share what God has blessed us with, with others.
I can hear you now...
“It’s by faith that I am saved, not by works.”
100% true!
Faith without works is … (see )
Because of our faith we must serve as Christ served.
Our works can never be the reason of our salvation but they can be proof of it.
How do we apply this?
Let me share with you a story I never shared before. Courtney DeGivanni (Yanchak) visited myself and Luke in the Children’s hospital.
Challenge...
Daily worship the Lord through word...
Tired? Discouraged? Get alone and praise the Lord through singing.
Daily worship the Lord through deed...
Call someone who was not here today.
Visit someone who doesn’t get out much.
Buy someone lunch who is hungry.
