Titus 1:1-4

            A great Calling

Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, Paul is in the wonderful line of succession of the servants of God, Moses, Joshua, the prophets, the judges, the servants of God. Thos who have said here I am send me, those who have said what are your orders my commander? Those who God has used to change the world, to free captives, to challenge Kings and authorities. Paul had a great lineage, and a great authority – a servant and an apostle – a messenger.

            A Great Purpose

for the faith of those chosen of God This is a purpose phrase. This is why God called Paul, to engender faith in those whom God is calling as His sons and daughters, the purpose of Paul’s ministry is faith filled folks who live faithful lives all to the glory and praise of God.

and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, This is the truth that fits, that results in true godly behavior, a changed life that reflects the power and glory of God in the believers life. Satan wants to rip us off, to see that this is not accomplished, that we do not reflect God’s handiwork and that God is not glorified in our lives. This is an ongoing battle and strategy of his (the enemies)

A Great Future

in the hope of eternal life, The end result of the faith and knowledge is eternal life with Jesus Christ. Not what happens here! Eternity is the goal, life is the goal!

A Great Promise by the original Promise Keeper

which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago, Are there things God cannot do? Lie is one, unlike the silly conundrums the junior highers used to try and trip up youth pastors with. This one is real. God cannot lie, it would be to deny His nature and His reality. (Numbers 23:19) So His promises are dependable. Here it is the promise of eternal life – Dean Smith service. Dean is in the experience of that for which he was made! TO love God and enjoy him forever! This is a promise that was made eons ago, and is now being experienced by those who have died in the Lord and will be experienced by all who are His! but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

To You for Jesus Sake!

To Titus, my true child in a common faith:

Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
