As we come to the beginning of the fifth chapter of acts we must read the last few verses of chapter four to pick up our story, and we must also remember that the chapter and verse numbers are placed in the Bible by man, and that they were placed in our BIble’s for us to be able to find our place.

I would like for us to take a look at verse 34
We see what seems to be the teaching of Biblical communism, and some even teach that this is the case, yet upon a more in depth study of this chapter we will find the fallowing .
this is only the doings of a local church.
2. This was a group of saved baptized believers not a government setup.
3. it was not mandatory.
as we read this story we will not find any verses that demand or even suggest that this was a mandatory law given by the church.
We read that distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
This story is the result of the revival that took place in the previous verses.
Here is what John Butler says concerning this act of sharing and meeting the needs of the early church.
concerning this act of sharing and meeting the needs of the early church
Webster says the fallowing on communism
a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed.
B. A theory advocating elimination of private property.
if we were to take a look at the old testament we would very easily find that God gave property to His people not took it away, and that the property was personal property, we also would read of many rich people like Job and Abraham, Lot and many others who God Blessed and made them rich. no place in Gods word do we find God blesses communism, but rather we see that God rewarded people for their work ( see Jacob who worked for laban)
Truly what we see here in the end of Acts Chapter four is the unselfishness of giving spirit of a local New testament church, and the fulfilment of scripture as found in
God gave property to His people not took it away.

Isreal as a nation
Concerning the man who’s name is Joses
Isreal as a nation
the priests
his name means
Caleb
He who Pardons.
it is believed that he is the same man that traveled later with Paul on some of his missionary journeys.
and Barnabas
The question as to why his name was mention can only be of a personal opinion, but here is what I believe on bout it.
God gave us this example for the fallowing
A. Joses Gave God what he had.
B God called him into ministry
C He was useful to God because he surrendered not only his body but all that he had.
it is an oxymoron to believe that one can truly serve God without God first having full reign of your entire Body Soul, Spirit and Belongings.
One that is unwilling to give of the things that God has blessed him with is not truly serving God from the heart, but only from the outside.
Thus I conclude that God pointed out Joses to teach us that true service to God is to hold nothing Back from Him and what He wishes to do with it for His glory.
