Gentle and Quiet Spirit - In God’s sight is very precious!

- Appetite, what is attractive and appealing to you?
- What do you consider precious or valuable?
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Abide: To continue a certain state, condition, or activity.
to continue v. — to continue a certain state, condition, or activity.
My current Situation
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
It really isn’t until that we get a picture of what it looks like to abide in Jesus.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

He Vs. Me
Abiding in Me or abiding in Christ
Keeping what I command or Keeping what he commands…
It really isn’t until that we get a picture of what it looks like to abide in Jesus.
To abide in Jesus means to keep his commandments and to keep his commandments means to love God with all our hearts and souls and minds and to love our neighbor as ourselves (). One way that we display our love for God is through our trust, prayer, and devotion to him. We abide through relationship. We pursue in love. We pray in love. We obey in love.
NLT 5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

My appetite is determined by what has control in my life.
When my appetite is dominated by the sinful nature, I crave sinful things!
When my appetite is dominated by the sinful nature, I crave sinful things!
Think about the definition of the word craving.
Craving: Something you long for, want greatly, desire eagerly, and beg for.
God made us to crave.
Don’t read over that last sentence too quickly. God made us to crave — to desire eagerly, want greatly, and long for Him. But Satan wants to do everything possible to replace our craving for God with something else. I like how the New Living Translation puts this:
God made us to crave — to desire eagerly, want greatly, and long for Him. But Satan wants to do everything possible to replace our craving for God with something else.
NLT Do not love this world nor the things it offers you… for the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. –
The cravings of the world are misplaced physical desires —
Things outside of the will of God. (Very Important)
A craving for everything we see means material things.
The reason why we make stupid decisions.
And lastly, pride in achievements and possessions describes someone chasing what brings feelings of significance.
I’m craving to feel needed.
I have an appetite for significance.
Feeling wanted.
When my appetite is dominated or controlled by the spirit! I crave things that please the spirit:
Keeping his commands

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food [physical craving] and pleasing to the eye [material craving], and also desirable for gaining wisdom [significance craving], she took some and ate it. –
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
