Pre-Intro:
My text today is coming from and the title of the message is, All Members Matter
Introduction:
I know that at some point in our church going life we have heard or felt that we are all expendable and can be replaced.
In reality this is not how Paul describes the value of each member in the body and certainly not how we should feel.
The truth is that each and every individual is important.
Now this easily seen in a smaller church than a mega church, but it takes a team of members to sustain and grow a church.
If not your own church visit a small church and watch what happens if one singer lays out, or the sound man does not show up, just as an example.
1 cor 12:12-16
The analogy of the body, not consisting exclusively of one, but of many members, illustrates the mutual dependence of the various members in the one body, the Church
Regardless of our different functions, gifts, or talents, we work together as one to make up a functioning church.
Your first blank is:
Take pride in your role!
No matter how important the eye is, it would be useless if it were the only member.
If everyone were the pastor, what would get accomplished?
The humbler members should not consider themselves not important or be disparaged by others.
The parts of the body must work in harmony in order to survive just like the members of the church.
Your next blank is:
Your churches success is relative to the teamwork of it’s members!
1 cor 12:
In contrast the many members are mutually dependent.
The higher cannot dispense with the lower member, because all are mutually dependent.
Your last blank is:
Your church is reliant on you!
Conclusion:
Most of us that are not in leadership positions in the church go through life just showing up on Sundays feeling that we are of no importance to the church, especially the larger churches.
But we can see from the scriptures that God meant for every person in the Body of Christ to play a part in the development, operation and survival of our local church and in larger part the advancement of the kingdom.
We must remember that we must take pride in our roles, Our churches success is relative to how well I play my position on the team, and my church relies on me playing a position.
