Miracles in real life

Matthew 17:20–22 CEB
“Because you have little faith,” he said. “I assure you that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Go from here to there,’ and it will go. There will be nothing that you can’t do.” When the disciples came together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Human One is about to be delivered over into human hands.
Matthew 17
Matthew 21:20 CEB
When the disciples saw it, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree dry up so fast?” they asked.
Matthew 17:21 CEB
Matthew 17:21 CEB
Matthew 21:21 CEB
Jesus responded, “I assure you that if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree. You will even say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the lake.’ And it will happen.
What are the miracles we are asking for?
As a people, we are often only willing to ask God for the miracles we know can/should happen unless we are desperate

Examples of asking for miracles

The Sun standing still.
Joshua 10:12 CEB
On the day the Lord gave the Amorites into the power of Israel, Joshua spoke to the Lord in the presence of the Israelites: “Sun, stand still at Gibeon! and Moon, at the Aijalon Valley!”
God gave him a vision for victory
Joshua asked for the miracle
God provided
It was ostentatious but it was for the glory of God

Asking for Miracles today

Don’t be afraid of the ask
Many people will tell you that the worst you can hear is a no. Yes God will at times tell you no but you won’t get the yes without the ask.
“if you’re not daring to believe God for the impossible, you’re sleeping through some of the best parts of your Christian Life.”
“And further still: if the size of your vision for your life isn’t intimidating to you, there’s a good chance it’s insulting to God.” - Stephen Furtick
“Just as some conversion experiences may be more spectacular than others, that doesn’t make them any more significant. So to it is for miracles...”
