9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Break down of passage:
Love foundation: “Love may abound more and more”
Moral aptitude/ethical living: “approve the things that are excellent”
Practical Living: “be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ”
Discipleship: “filled with fruits of righteousness”
Glorification: “glory and praise of God”
The significance of this text is that many of us want to be doing the final four things. But all of this stems from a love foundation. If love does not grow, can we have moral aptitude?
