Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs

Earthquakes tsunamis, floods, wars, increasing persecution and wickedness. Sounds like a wonderful future to look forward to. but look at it like it is creations birthing pains that usher in an age where Jesus has returned. It means we indeed have a wonderful future to look forward to. At Jesus’ prophecy the disciples must have learned quickly for they quickly identified the time of which Jesus spoke.
“What will your sign be of Your coming?” Jesus answers with less specific. There is no single sign to look for.
#1 Do you notice any characteristics of Jesus’ return?
first, jesus’ coming will be seen, like a lightening bolt flashing across the sky. His appearance will happen after the Tribulation. That appearance will be with great and dramatic disturbances in the heavens. There will be another sign in the heavens. And finally Jess will call his angels to gather the chosen.
No one knows when this day will come. not even the angels who reside with God. It is a tightly kept secret and places on us a great challenge. Are you up for the challenge? In yesterday’s reading, Jesus told us to do something crucial. He told us not to believe false prophets and teachers. That is the challenge to all believers. Satan is a jealous deceiver who wants one thing more than anything else; and that is to separate us from God.
#2 There are other things we should be doing like what?
We should be seeking to always have a right relationship with God so that we are not taken unawares. We should be seeking out unbelievers in our lives so that we may be the instruments of the Holy Spirit’s work. Watching and waiting; listening to the Holy Spirit so we hear His voice.
#3 Do you think it matters whether we know when Jesus is coming or not? Would you want the Holy Spirit to reveal the exact time? What would you do in the meantime while waiting for that day?
Typically, I am one to begin work on a project within a few days of its due date. I have always been like that. I think that a poor character trait would be revealed if I would know of the date. I also don’t think waiting on an action is beneficial. I would like to believe that I would not be selfish in those waiting days or wait to get things ready.
