Welcome,

… Announcements and thoughts just open our time...

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord.”
“It is good to give thanks to the Lord.”
Sunday, we came together and worshiped the Lord. And so did many other Christians in many other churches around our community, state, nation and yes the world.
God’s people were gathered, worshipping and praising the Lord our God.
And think about what took place in our services...
We heard prayers, sang songs, gave offerings, listened to sermons, and fellowshipped with others.
We heard prayers, sang songs, gave offerings, listened to sermons, and fellowshipped with others. I wonder, though, if we truly realize the blessing of doing what we did. I also wonder if we understand the value of our own daily, personal worship. The psalmist knew how important worship is, and he expressed his thoughts in clear and powerful words: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praise to your name, Most High, to declare your faithful love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, with a ten-stringed harp and the music of a lyre” ().
But, do you realize just how special these days are to us. Do we, do our people really know the power and purpose of personal and corporate worship?
When I look at the Word of God I see the Psalmist knew just how special it is… He knew how important worship is…
Let me share : verse 1-3
Psalm 92:1–3 ESV
1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; 2 to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, 3 to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre.
Psalm 92
_______________________________
The Psalmist expressed his thoughts in clear and powerful words: He says It is good to worship the Lord.
The word good,- it is pleasant, wonderful thing to give thanks… so it is a wonderful thing to express grateful praise and give thanks ...
And the focus of all this, is of course the Lord. He is always the object of our worship. And we have been called to worship him and him alone...
Now there is a definite direction here in what is being said.....
give thanks
sing praises
declare your steadfast love in the morning and faithfulness by night....
I think when we read this we can see the heart of the Psalmist, He has a desire express His thankfulness, his praise and his devotion to the Lord for His massive blessing that is felt and seen in His life.
One is example of this is when the Abraham saw the blessing of the Lord,
Genesis 14:20 ESV
20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
;
It is indeed good to give thanks to the Lord, to recognize that all that we are and have is a gift of God.
It is indeed good to give thanks to the Lord, to recognize that all that we are and have is a gift of God.
It is indeed good to give thanks to the Lord, to recognize that all that we are and have is a gift of God. We have life itself because God has chosen to grant it. It is also good to sing His praises, to lift our voices to express our heart in song.
Now consider our life....We have life itself because God has chosen to grant it. We have salvation because God sent His son into the world to die for our sin…
I do not believe there is anyone who could say… “I cannot praise the Lord or have nothing to praise him for...” I would say to them their hearts are darkened by sin and they cannot truly see....
The psalmist speaks from the heart, and he speaks to the use of music that is played, which accompanies the heart of praise. They play, they sing and they give praise to the Lord our God.
We have life itself because God has chosen to grant it. It is also good to sing His praises, to lift our voices to express our heart in song.
It is good to declare His love in the morning and His faithfulness at night.
Then look at verse 4
Psalm 92:4 ESV
4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
, it is quite good to declare His love in the morning and His faithfulness at night.
The psalmist praises God for the very work of His hands..... I sing, I praise.... I bless the Lord for his works.. The work of God brings glory to God.
Psalm 90:16 ESV
16 Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children.
We begin the day under the umbrella of His love, and we end the day having noted His faithfulness throughout that day.
God is so good that He has made us rejoice, and shouting for joy is the natural response to His goodness.

Stop for a moment like as a wise man and say one thing you can give thanks for from the Lord....
So, use this day to worship the Lord in your own life. Read His Word. Give Him thanks. Sing His praises. Share His goodness with others. Declare His name to your family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. Shout for joy!
