Joshua 10
The first thing that stood out to me, is that these Kings, that were leaders of their people went and hid themselves when the going got tough.
When the people needed them the most, needed direction, needed encouragement, they went and hid.
This is an indication of self preservation, no leader, in it for the title.
The other thing that stood out to me was the contrast of the leadership of Joshua.
He gave them instructions, go and secure the cave, but not you yourselves.
#1 He wanted the leaders to get others involved.
#2 He wanted the leaders to continue to lead.
He then brought the enemy out in-front of the people and showed everyone that they could accomplish the tough things.
He told the people to put their feet on the enemies necks.
Don't be afraid of the hard times...in the valleys of life...be strong and courageous.
For the Lord will help you over come every challenge life has for you.
The 3rd thing I see in this passage is because of their new found faith in the Lord, they began to conquer the land, with confidence.
They conquered it leaving none remaining.
How much can the Lord help you conquer in your life?
verse 42, "And Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel."
